We usually recommend that cover and inner blankets be washed separately and gently machine washed in cold water.

Check your blankets thoroughly. It's a good way to check for any damage or stains so you can pretreatment before cleaning the entire blanket. It also prevents stains from being "baked" into blanket fabrics during washing and drying.

Once you spot the stain, expose the soiled blanket parts and place them in cold water.

Do this whether your location is wet or dry. Large part of stains can be washed out in water. It's important to use cold water, weighted blanket should only be washed in cold water, and warmer temperatures can cause stains into the fiber of the blanket.

Treat grease stains with soap. If you drop food or any oil onto the blanket, immediately use soap and don't bleach. Odorless, chlorine-free soap is the best option.

Once you've put water on it, apply the soap directly to the stain area. Aim as much as possible on the oil stain.

Wipe the soap gently with your fingers or with a very soft brush, such as a toothbrush.

Once you've finished the pretreatment, you can start washing the entire blanket.
